Directed by Chandrapraksh Dwivedi, Samrat Prithviraj is based on an epic love story of Prithviraj and Sanyogita. The movie is an action drama film based on the celebration of patriotism and valor of the Rajput community. The movie also displays the courage and heroism of Indian kings in the historic era. The movie also reflects upon women's rights and gender equality. Portraying the character of Sanyogita, former Miss World Manushi Chhillar gives a sense of a proud princess with full confidence.

With a duration of 2 hours and 13 minutes, the movie is running in theatres in three languages - Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. At the time of release, Akshay Kumar has requested his fans to not reveal any spoilers after watching the movie. He said, "Since it's an authentic historical, there are many facets of Samrat's life that are lesser-known to the people of our country. Our sincere request to everyone, to not give spoilers."

The cast of the movie 

With a strong supporting cast with Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt, Sakshi Tanwar, Ashutosh Rana, and Manav Vij, the movie keeps the viewers glued to the screen till the end. Portraying the character of Chand Bardai, Sonu Sood narrates the story of Prithviraj. Sanjay Dutt's comic acting brings relief to serious scenarios. The movie keeps repeating the message that Rajputs are ready to die for honor. 

Being a romantic story, the movie focuses on the bravery and courage of Prithviraj instead of his love story with Sanyogita. The movie attempts to remind the audience that Prithviraj was the last Indian ruler of Delhi.
