TV couples who broke-up even before they could say I do

While their love stories looked straight out of a fairytale, it was never a happy ending for these TV couples

They say love is complicated, and while we have seen this being established with our Bollywood films, there have also been times where we have seen, boy meets girl, they get married and live happily ever after. But this fairytale romance has majorly been a myth for many of our Television couples. Well, there have been exceptions too, but not all relations have had a happy ending and a new beginning like Gautam Rode-Pankhuri Awasthy, Smriti Khanna-Gautam Gupta, Prince Narula-Yuvika Chaudhary. 

While we easily get attached to our TV celebs due to seeing them on a daily basis, there are even some couples who we have secretly and badly wished to see get married. And while their relationship was right there, came a point where it all ended. Here are some such couples, who even though looked made for each other, somewhere in the romance parted ways. 

Karishma Tanna-Pearl V Puri/Upen Patel

Actress Karishma Tanna who has been a prominent name on television has often been in the news for her relationships. While she was on Bigg Boss 8, in 2014, she fell in love with Upen while on the show and it looked like they were going to be a strong couple in the future. What further gave hope to their fans was when Karishma-Upen got engaged on Nach Baliye 7 in 2015. However, in 2016, Upen announced their break-up on social media. 

After this, reports surfaced that love was brewing between Karishma and actor Pear V Puri on the sets of Naagin 3. While the two had even claimed to be each other’s emotional anchor they never confirmed their relationship. But now reports state that Karishma and Pearl have amicably parted ways. It is being said that while Karishma wanted to get married, Pearl’s commitment issues led to their separation. 

Gauahar Khan-Kushal Tandon

While Gauahar and Kushal looked like they were made for each other on Bigg Boss 7, the two had a nasty break up. Almost a year after the show and their relationship it was reported that the two broke up over issues related to marriage.

 Divyanka Tripathi-Ssharad Malhotra

While Divyanka and Ssharad were one of TV most favourite couple, it came as a huge shock to their fans when the couple ended their seven-year-long relationship in 2015. Divyanka-Ssharad who met on the show Banoo Mein Teri Dulhan, called it quits when Ssharad’s uncertainty related to marriage got in the way of their love life. Later on, Divyanka married her co-star from Yeh Hai Mohabbatein Vivek Dahiya and Ssharad took the plunge with Delhi based designer Ripci Bhatia. 

Sana Khan-Melwin Louis

Bigg Boss fame Sana Khan ruled the internet for some months after she accused ex-boyfriend Melvin Louis of infidelity. While Sana looked at marriage as a prospect for her and Melvin, the actress was quite shattered when it all ended, in fact, Sana would often break down while talking about her break-up. 

Faisal Khan-Muskan Kataria

Nach Baliye 9’s most lovey-dovey pair Faisal Khan and Muskaan Kataria left everyone shocked when the quit the reality show. While it was said that due to Faisal’s injury they made this decision, later it was revealed that due to some issues in their love life the couple had parted ways. What looked like a lover’s tiff was reportedly a huge fight due to trust issues, which ended their relationship. 

Rithvik and Asha negi

Rithvik and Asha who made many hearts skip a beat with their chemistry on Pavitra Rishta broke up after some time of the show. It was Asha’s viral social media post which confirmed the same and after that, the actress also quit social media for a while. 

Arhaan Khan-Rashmi Desai

One major reason why Rashmi Desai was in news during Bigg Boss 13 was due to her love affair with Arhaan Khan. The actress, who was married to Nandish Sandhu earlier, had to end things with Arhaan on a bad note after Salman Khan revealed his truth. The superstar exposed Arhaan’s hidden marriage and child on national television, leaving Rashmi shattered. 

Sushant Singh Rajput-Ankita Lokhande

The late Sushant Singh Rajput dated his Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokhande for a long time. While the two even brought a house together, all fans were expecting was a wedding announcement coming from the couple. However, in 2016, Ankita and Sushant parted ways clarifying all allegations on him of being a womanizer and of Ankita being an alcoholic. While Ankita is now engaged to Vicky Jain, Sushant is more between us, the actor committed suicide in June this year. 

While these are just a hand few, there are many more couples who gave hopes of tying the knot to fans, but life had other plans for them.
