Hormonal imbalances are a common problem for women, and they can result in problems like PCOS, thyroid, and irregular periods. Anshuka Parwani, a well-known yoga teacher, explained that although yoga cannot medically heal certain disorders, it can surely assist manage their symptoms.
Yoga as a Complementary Approach for Managing Hormonal Imbalances
A hormonal
imbalance in the body can cause a number of problems, including PCOS and thyroid
problems. Although many disorders need a good medical diagnosis to be treated,
food and lifestyle adjustments can also be very helpful in managing them. In
particular, some yoga asanas can be useful for controlling hormone imbalances.
Anshuka Parwani, a well-known yoga instructor, said on Instagram that
practising yoga can help women balance their hormones.
"Women frequently experience hormonal imbalances, which can result in problems like irregular periods, PCOS, thyroid, etc.," she continued. Yoga can surely assist manage these diseases and their symptoms even though it cannot medically treat them.
Five Effective Yoga Poses for Balancing Hormones
The five poses
that Parwani practises are: Uttanasana, or the forward fold, The butterfly
pose, or Baddha konasana, The bridge position or setu bandhasana, Ardh
matsyendrasana, or half fish pose and Makrasana.
She suggested
that one begin by performing these asanas for only 15 seconds and work their
way up to 2 minutes. Every yoga pose affects the musculoskeletal system,
endocrine system, nervous system, digestive system, and endocrine system.
According to Dr. Mehta, "usually these 5 yoga asanas are chosen to
increase hormonal activity and restore and repair the balance of its
malfunction."
Dr. Mehta gave the example of uttanasana when explaining how yoga poses can help regulate hormone levels. He said, "Each time we bend downward, breathe out, and squeeze our organs, certain toxins ooze out from the organ, and most importantly we stimulate our endocrine system which triggers hormones to regulate them and balance them out. Your core is also affected by this. The hormones are stimulated whenever the core is compressed.

Don't maintain the positions for too long if it makes you uncomfortable. Before you even try to get into the position, warm up thoroughly. The greatest strategy is to be in the moment. Start off slowly and gradually increase.
