On Thursday, Akshay Kumar stepped down as the brand ambassador for a tobacco brand. At midnight on April 20, Akshay made this announcement. Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared an apology to his fans, he wrote, "I am sorry. I would like to apologize to you, all my fans, and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause." 


Further, he wrote, "The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return, I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes." 

Akshay's presence in Vimal Elaichi Ad 

For the cardamom items of the Vimal tobacco brand, Akshay Kumar has joined hands with Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. In the promo ad, Akshay is seen welcomed by SRK and Ajay Devgn to the 'Vimal Universe' as they chewed Vimal Elaichi. 

As soon as Vimal Ad went on air, it didn't receive a positive response from the fans. Many fans took to their social media and shared the old videos of Akshay in which he spoke about his aversion toward alcohol, tobacco, and other harmful products.

The upcoming projects 

Taking about the professional sphere, the said actor will be seen in his upcoming movie Prithviraj alongside Manushi Chhillar. Manushi will be debuting in the bollywood industry with Prithviraj. Akshay's other upcoming projects include Ram Setu, OMG 2, Raksha Bandhan, Gorkha, etc.
