68th National Film Awards: Asha Parekh Honoured With Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Ajay Devgn and Suriya Get Best Actor Award
Actor Suriya received his very first National Film Award for Best Actor, for his splendid performance as Nedumaaran Rajangam also known as Maara in Soorarai Pottru.

Aside from this, renowned writer and music director Vishal Bhardwaj has received the Best Music Director award for the melody 'Marenge To Wahi Jaa Kar' from the documentary 1232 km. These awards were declared on 22 July and the honor is being given to the winners on 30 September.
