Uttarakhand: Free Tablet for Students of Class 10 and 12
The Uttarakhand government has announced to provide free tablets for students studying in Class 10, 12 and Degree colleges.

On Tuesday, the Uttarakhand government has approved a proposal to provide free tablets to students of class 10th and 12th and degree colleges studying in government schools. This decision has been taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. Along with this, the cabinet has increased the honorarium of ASHA workers to at least Rs.6,500 per month.
While informing about the decisions after the meeting, State Cabinet Minister and State Government Spokesperson Subodh Uniyal said that with the free tablet scheme, 1,59,015 students studying in 10th and 12th standard in government schools and degree colleges will get admission. 115,000 students studying will be benefited. He said that a committee has been constituted for the purchase of tablets.
In another decision, the cabinet in its second decision has given in-principle consent to reduce the fees of students studying in Haldwani and Doon government medical colleges and paying their services to the state and it has been decided that a proposal will be brought in the coming days.
