On Monday, Petrol and diesel prices are hiked again by 35 paise per litre for the fourth consecutive day. The latest increase has pushed an overall hike in rates of petrol by Rs 36 per litre and diesel by Rs 26.58 since the beginning of May 2020.
As per the price notification of the state-owned fuel retailers, the price of petrol in Delhi is now standing at ₹107.24 per litre and diesel is retailing for ₹95.97. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 113.12 per litre and diesel is selling at Rs 104.00 per litre.
Petrol price hike since May 5, 2020, record excise duty to be. While the international prices have touched US$85, the excise duty remains at ₹32.9 per litre on petrol and ₹31.8 on diesel. After the government's decision to raise the level, now the total is Rs 35.98 per litre. During this, the price of diesel has increased by ₹26.58 per litre.
