Petrol-Diesel price gets costlier, Petrol price reaches Rs. 101/Liter in Delhi

On Wednesday, March 30, Petrol and diesel prices are hiked for the ninth time. The fuel rates were increased for the first time on 22 March after nearly four and a half months of stability and now petrol and diesel are becoming increasingly expensive within the country. After the recent hike, Petrol in Delhi is costing Rs. 101.01.
Petrol costing at Rs. 101.01 and Diesel sells at Rs. 92.27 in Delhi
As per the information received, the government fuel retailers said, the price of petrol in Delhi will now be Rs 101.01 per liter which was earlier Rs 100.21 while the price of diesel has increased from Rs 91.47 per liter to Rs 92.27 per liter. The prices have been increased but due to variation in local taxation, the prices of petrol and diesel vary in different states. Petrol and diesel prices are now seeing an increase, which was expected soon after the end of the elections in five states including Uttar Pradesh and Punjab on March 10, 2022.
Prices stabilized for two weeks
There was no increase in prices for almost two weeks, while experts on several occasions have insisted that due to the increased international crude oil prices, retailers in India need to increase the prices. At the same time, before March 22, the prices were stable for a long gap of about four and a half months. No changes were made to these. After this, the prices were increased for the first time on 22 March and since then till now the prices have been increased by a total of Rs 5.60 per liter.
Petrol and diesel prices were on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, were hiked by 80 paise a liter each, taking the total increase in rates in the last nine days to Rs 5.60 per liter. Petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs 101.01 per liter as against Rs 100.21 previously while diesel rates have gone up from Rs 91.47 per liter to Rs 92.27 according to a price notification of state fuel retailers.
This is the ninth increase in prices since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22. On the first four occasions, prices were increased by 80 paise a liter - the steepest single-day rise since the daily price revision was introduced in June 2017. On the following days, petrol price went up by 50 paise and 30 paise a liter, while diesel rose by 55 paise and 35 paise a liter.
In all, petrol and diesel prices have gone up by Rs 5.60 per liter - the steepest increase in any eight days since the daily price revision was implemented in June 2017.
