Omicron Threat: Wipro likely to Close Offices Globally
Amidst rising concern for Covid-19, Wipro is likely to close all offices globally.

On Wednesday, Wipro has said that it will be closing all the offices globally for the next four weeks as there is constant surge in Covid-19 cases. During the earnings call, Wipro Chief Executive Officer Thierry Delaporte said, the company would re-calibrate return to office initiatives in light of the evolving situation.
The Work from Home
In a recent Microsoft event, Wipro executive chairman, Rishad Premji said, "But I think fundamentally, it is important that people do come back some of the time. I’m a big believer that people connect for two reasons: one is culture and the other innovation."
Further, he added, “I think it’s incredibly critical for that to happen. And it doesn’t happen in this transactional medium of being virtual."
In view of rising Covid-19 cases in India, many companies have opted for work remotely also known as work from home.
