Odisha: Govt to offer Free Coaching for several Competitive Exams
The Odisha state government is set to offer free coaching to students for several competitive exams.

The Odisha state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with educational tech company Unacademy to provide free coaching to students for national level competitive exams like NEET-UG, IIT-JEE and NDA.
The aim to take such an initiative is to provide assistance to students studying in class 11th who are poor and meritorious and who wants to prepare for the exams. The interested students for the free coaching have to appear for the online aptitude test which will be conducted on January 15. Students can register themselves for the same from December 15 to January 12.
Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria for offering scholarship to students is 50% marks achieved by them in High School Certificate (HSC) and 50% marks in the online aptitude test, said the report by Times of India. The aptitude test will be conducted for a duration of one hour. Interested and eligible students would be able to apply only through Unacademy’s section for the Odisha scholarship test. After qualifying for the test, students would be required to submit an income certificate, the report further said.
Scholarships
The Odisha government will provide 300 scholarships to students preparing for NEET-UG and IIT-JEE and 400 scholarships will be offered to students preparing for the National Defence Academy (NDA) exams. As notified by the state government, the scholarships will be provided only after a thorough scrutiny of the applicant's documents.
