Dharmapal Gulati, 98, has breathed his last at Mata Channan Devi's hospital. He was hospitalized for a long time due to illness. He breathed his last at 5:38 this morning. His funeral will be at two o'clock in the afternoon. He recovered even after being infected with the corona. On his demise, Delhi's CN Arvind Kejriwal has sent a tweet expressing grief. •Mahasaya Dharmapal was born on March 27, 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan.

•In 1933, he left his school before completing 5th class.

•In 1937, Mahasaya Dharmapala started a business with the help of his father. After this he started trading in textiles, hardware etc.

•All these businesses could not run for a long time so later he became a part of his father's business.

•He started working in a shop named after his father Mahashiyan Di Hatti. It was famous by the name of Degi Mirch Wale.

•When he came to Delhi after India-Pakistan partition, when he came to India on September 27, 1947, he had only Rs. 1500.

•Mahasaya Dharmapal had bought a tanga for Rs 650 and used to drive it from New Delhi Railway Station to Qutub Road.

•Later he gave the Tanga to his brother and set up a shop on Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh to sell spices.

•His business started and after that the foundation of MDH brand was laid in India.

•Very few people know that they are good businessmen as well as social workers. They have built things like schools, hospitals etc. He has worked to open more than 20 schools.

•Dharmapal Gulati himself had told that gradually he opened spice shops everywhere. He used to grind masala in another place but one day the masala grinder started mixing gram in turmeric.

•He said that all this was against his principles. In such a situation, he himself opened a spice factory and the work increased rapidly.
