Amidst the ongoing war situation between Russia-Ukraine, on March 1, the Government of India has released new prices of LPG cylinders, the new prices of cylinders have increased by Rs 105. This increase has been done only in commercial cylinders so far, but to a large extent it is also possible that after March 7, this increase can be seen in domestic LPG cylinders as well. The National Oil Marketing companies had previously slashed the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder cost by Rs 91.50 on February 1. 

The impact of Assembly Elections 

The sixth phase and seventh phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are yet to be held on March 3 and March 7 respectively. In such a situation, after 7 March this disaster can befall the general public. There has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders since 6 October 2021 last year. However, in the past, there was a huge increase in crude oil prices, after which oil prices have crossed $ 102 per barrel. Well, during this time there was a lot of fluctuation in the prices of commercial cylinders. 

Let us inform that between October 2021 to February 1, 2022, the prices of commercial cylinders have increased by Rs 170. In Delhi, till October 1, the price of commercial cylinders used to be Rs 1736, but in November this price reached 2000 and then by December it reached Rs 2101. Well, in January this price fell again and by February 2022, it fell further to Rs 1907.

After the increase from Tuesday, 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost Rs 2,012 in Delhi. The price of 5 kg cylinder has also increased by Rs 27 and now it will cost Rs 569 in Delhi.
