Is Mehul Choksi still an Indian?
ED is going to file affidavit in Dominica Court tomorrow explaining that Mehul Choksi is still an Indian.
Mehul Choksi is wanted by Indian police regarding allegedly siphoning Rs. 13,500 crore of public money from the state run Punjab National Bank (PNB) using letters of undertaking. He has taken citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda in 2017 before fleeing from India so that he won't get caught by the Indian police.
ED will be requesting Dominican government to allow them to file an affidavit in court that Mehul Choksi is still an Indian.
'It's mandatory to explain Indian government's stand. This can't be one sided. Choksi is very much an Indian citizen and offender. We will plea Dominica Court to handover Choksi to India", said by the officials.
The viral photo of Mehul Choksi shows that he is bruised with a swollen eye. To which sources said, "All allegations of physical attack on Choksi are wrong. He is making a human rights case which is absolutely wrong and false."
