The impact of the rise in crude oil prices in the international market has led to oil marketing companies to increase the price of diesel by Rs 25 per litre for bulk users. The prices are raised after witnessing a 40% hike in the international oil rates amid Russia-Ukraine crisis. This information has been given in a report quoting sources. However, there has been no increase in the rate for retail users at the petrol pump.

The current rates

In Delhi, the price of diesel has reached to Rs. 115 per litre for bulk users. On the other hand, diesel is selling at petrol pumps at the rate of Rs 86.67 per liter for retail customers. As per the sources, "other bulk users to be impacted are industries that use bulk diesel, as the hike in their input costs may lead to increase in manufacturing prices of the goods. Others hit by the surge include malls and airports as they use huge quantities of diesel for generating back up electricity", as reported by the Times of India.
