Fuel Price Rise: CNG, PNG Bounces By Rs 3/Kg, Latest Rates In Different Cities

Diwali is just around the corner and fuel prices are hiked in various cities of India. On Saturday, the costs of CNG and piped natural gas (PNG) are raised by Rs 3 per kg in sync with a price hike in input natural gas prices. This is the first climb in CNG prices in four months, while a rise of Rs 3 for each standard cubic meter in PNG cost is the first price hike in two months. The new rates will be relevant from Saturday, October 8, 2022.
The new rates
CNG costs in Delhi presently stand at Rs 78.61 per kg, contrasted to Rs 75.61 per kg prior, as per the data posted on the site of Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL). The paces of gas channeled to family kitchens, called PNG, are expanded to Rs 53.59 per standard cubic meter (SCM) in Delhi from Rs 50.59 per SCM. IGL retails CNG and PNG in Delhi and bordering urban communities.

CNG, PNG price rise
For CNG, it is the fourteenth expansion in cost since March 7. Rates were last expanded by Rs 2 for every kg on May 21. Altogether, the CNG cost has ascended by Rs 22.60 per kg during this period. Since April 2021, CNG costs have expanded by Rs 35.21 per kg or 80%. For PNG, it is the tenth expansion in PNG rates since August 2021. In all costs have gone up by Rs 29.93 per SCM, or very nearly 91%.
IGL hikes the price of Domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in Delhi to Rs 53.59 per SCM. The new price will come into effect from tomorrow, October 8th.

Latest rates in various cities
In Gurugram, the CNG cost has climbed to Rs 86.94 per kg; while it has been overhauled upwards to Rs 81.17 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad. The most recent CNG value adds up to Rs 88.88 per kg in Ajmer and Rs 89.81 per kg in Kanpur.
Lately, in Mumbai, city gas utility Mahanagar Gas has expanded the retail cost of Compressed Natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) by Rs 6 for each kg and by Rs 4 for every SCM, respectively, in and around the megapolis from Monday 12 PM.
