Fuel Price Hike: Petrol-Diesel Rates rise by 80 paise for the 14th time

On Wednesday, April 6, the rates for one liter of petrol and diesel have increased by 80 paise each for the fourteenth time in the last 16 days. The rates for one liter of petrol and diesel in total are increased by Rs. 10 per liter each. After the current price revision, the rates of petrol in the national capital have reached Rs. 105.41 per liter and diesel is costing Rs. 96.67 per liter. Before the current price hike, petrol and diesel in Delhi were selling at Rs. 104.61 and Rs. 95.87 per liter respectively.
Price revised by OMCs
The state-owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) revise the rates on a daily basis in line with international fuel prices. The fuel rates vary from state to state depending on the variation in local taxation. However, the current price hike is the 14th increase in fuel prices from March 22, after a long gap of four and a half months since November 2021.
