Central Board of Secondary Education and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education or CBSE, ICSE Term 1 Board Exam 2022 has is set to be conducted in an offline mode. Today, on November 18, 2021, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by students, seeking to conduct 10th, 12th exams in hybrid mode. With this, the examinations will be conducted as per schedule following the Covid-19 safety protocols.
The hearing of the CBSE, ICSE Term 1 Board Examination 2022 case was being done by a bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice CT Ravi Kumar. "...as the exam has commenced on November 16, it will be inappropriate to intervene now and disturb the entire process. At this belated stage, the Writ Petition cannot be entertained. We hope and trust that all the precautions will be taken by the authorities and COVID SOP will be adhered to", the bench noted in the order. Presenting the arguments, the Solicitor General, SG said that this time all precautions have been taken for the board examinations. Also, this time, the number of examination centers has been increased and a class will have 12 students to ensure that social distancing is maintained. The petition was earlier to be heard on November 15, 2021.

Challenged the decision of CBSE and CISCE to conduct 10th, 12th board exams in offline mode. It has specifically sought quashing of two circulars from both the boards - CBSE's circular dated October 14, 2021 and CISCE's circular dated October 22, 2021. Both these notices contain the schedule of Term 1 exam and it has been said that they will be conducted offline. CBSE, ICSE Term 1 Board Exam 2022 has already started and is being conducted in offline mode. Even though the hearing got adjourned and the students started taking the exams, they were eagerly waiting for the Supreme Court's decision on this.
