Women in Indian culture are mostly advised to tolerate and forgive their husband’s fault so safeguard the marriage. However there lies a sting of limit to the patience of every individual stretching this string continuously leads to frustration, anger and revenge.
A 30-year-old woman Sangeeta Sonwani after getting tired of repeated humiliation by her husband allegedly murdered him with an axe. As per reports the victim Anant Sonwani possessed a cruel habit of taunting his wife for her dark skin complexion every now and then. He continued to abuse his wife verbally by calling her ugly that became the reason behind frequent fights between them.
This breath-taking incident took place in Amleshwar village located in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Sangeeta entered into a heated quarrel with her 40 year old husband on Sunday night. Filled with frustration and anger Sangeeta attacked her husband with the axe kept in the house. In addition to this the accused brutally chopped off the victim's genitals. The husband got killed on the spot.
The couple had got married following the death of first wife of the victim. After murdering her husband the wife began screaming next morning to hide her offence. She tried to mislead the villagers by acted and mourned for her deceased partner as if someone had killed her husband. According to Devansh Rathore, sub-divisional officer of police (Patan area), she confessed both her crime and the cause behind it during police interrogation.
The police arrested Sangeeta Sonwani on Monday for allegedly mudering her husband Anant Sonwani (40) on Sunday night. He also informed that the murderer was deeply upset with her husband’s verbal abuse and humiliation that eventually enraged her to commit this heinous crime. The woman has been booked under section 302 (murder) and other relevant provisions of the IPC and a further probe is underway, Rathore said.
