Weather Updates: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Rainfall in Delhi

The India Meteorological Department issued Yellow alert for heavy to very heavy rainfalls in various areas of India. Read more to know the latest weather forecast.

On Sunday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert warning as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Kerala for the upcoming five days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for 11 districts in the state except for Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Thiruvananthapuram. 

The IMD said that on Monday, Kerala is likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall ranging between 7 cm to 11 cm. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely to take place in the state, said the IMD.

Yellow Alert for Delhi 

On Sunday, the IMD issued a yellow alert in the national capital for the next 2 days, as there is a possibility of isolated, and scattered rainfall ranging between 7.5 mm to 15 mm for a few hours. Meanwhile, for Wednesday, an orange alert has been issued. 

The maximum and the minimum temperature in the national capital on Sunday were recorded as 35.4 degrees Celsius and 26.2 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday, Delhi witnessed a humid morning as it rained heavily on Sunday. As per IMD, till July 10, Delhi is likely to witness cloudy skies with light rains and thunderstorms.

Yellow Alert in Konkan, Goa, and Chhattisgarh 

The IMD has issued a yellow alert in Konkan and Goa for the next four days and for the next two days the same alert has been issued in Chhattisgarh. 

As per the weather forecast, "strong winds speeding up to 50-70 kmph are likely over Southwest Arabian Sea and Westcentral Arabian Sea, and Strong winds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph are likely over East-central Arabian sea."
