Weather Update: IMD Predicts Mild To Moderate Rainfall in Delhi-NCR

As per the IMD, Delhi is likely to witness rainfall followed by gusty winds in the next few days.

In the recent weather forecast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the occurrence of mild to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. With gusty winds speeding up to 30-40 kmph, the national capital is likely to record the maximum temperature at 32 degrees Celsius. 

On Sunday, the national capital recorded the maximum temperature at 30.7 degrees Celsius, which is eight degrees below the seasonal average temperature. In the recent weather update, the IMD has tweeted, "i) Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into  most parts Madhya Pradesh,  remaining parts of Chhattisgarh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of northwest Bay of Bengal, and entire Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, most parts of Jharkhand."

Orange Alert in Mumbai 

In Mumbai, the IMD has issued an Orange alert as there is a possibility of severe to very severe rainfall in Mumbai, Thane, and adjacent districts of the state. As per the reports, the orange alert has been issued for Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. 

On Sunday, a spokesperson from IMD said, "The city may receive roughly 130 mm of rain over the next two or three days. While this is not alarming by Mumbai norms, it could cause waterlogging."

Weather Forecast 

On Sunday, in its daily bulletin, the IMD said, "Fairly widespread/ widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning is very likely over Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep during the next five days. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall likely over Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next five days."
