The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many parts of the country. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Snowfall may occur in upper areas of Shimla, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti, while the weather will remain clear in other parts. The Western Disturbance is likely to become active again in the state on February 22, which will have its effect in the entire state.
On the other hand, the minimum temperature in Lahaul-Spiti has been recorded at minus 8 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature in the state has been recorded in Una at 25 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the maximum temperature of 24 degree Celsius has been recorded in Bilaspur.
The latest forecast
In the forecast on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, "Andaman & Nicobar islands and some other states are likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next couple of days under influence of cyclonic circulation over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, light rainfall/snowfall is expected over Western Himalayan Region under the influence of a fresh western disturbance."
Further, the weather department said, "Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh during 19th to 22th and over Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura on 20th & 21st February."
