Weather Update: IMD issues Heavy Rainfall alert for 6 States/UTs

The IMD has issued heavy rainfall alert for three days in 6 states/UTs.

For the next three days, rain has been predicted in six states including Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given this information. Also, there may be shivering cold in UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh for the next three days. On the other hand, there is a possibility of a drop in temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and North Rajasthan today as compared to the past days.  

Rain has been predicted in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh from January 21 to January 23. According to Skymet, this change of weather will happen due to western disturbances. 

The Meteorological Department 

According to the Meteorological Department, very dense fog will remain in the morning and evening in Rajasthan, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. This may reduce visibility. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the national capital Delhi on 21, 22 and 23 January. In such a situation, people living in Delhi may have to face trouble. It is to be known that even in early January, the weather had taken a turn in Delhi and it rained heavily for several days. 

The Cold Wave 

In the states of North India, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh etc., the outbreak of cold wave and severe cold will continue. The lowest level of weather was seen in Delhi at 7 am on Sunday. The Meteorological Department had estimated that the mercury in Delhi would be up to 16 degree Celsius, but the sight on Sunday was different, Delhi had reached its lowest temperature only 8 degree Celsius. 

The IMD has predicted that the cold conditions in states like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan may become more severe in the next two days. Western UP and adjoining areas have become the home of cyclone. The situation is almost the same in South Konkan and Goa. The Meteorological Department has expressed in its report the possibility of western disturbances or western disturbances coming from the western Himalayas between January 16 and 21. Due to which there may be drizzle or light snow on the Himalayas.
