Based out of Bengaluru, Indian start-up company Wakefit has announced the "Right to Nap" on Twitter for its employees. In the statement, the company said that the employees will be allowed to take a nap from 2 pm to 2:30 pm at work every day. Timing designated as "Official Nap Time". the calendars of the employees will be blocked during this time period. To provide a 'perfect nap environment', the company is working towards providing its employees with 'cozy nap pods' and 'quiet rooms' at the official premises.

Announcement on Twitter
While making the recent announcement on its official Twitter handle, the company shared a screenshot of the email shared by co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, stating the importance of a 'crucial aspect of rest - the afternoon nap'. In the mail, the co-founder cited the research studies performed by NASA and Harvard indicating the importance of naps to improve performance and prevent burnout.

A user on LinkedIn wrote, "Chaitanya Ramalingegowda Man trust me you gonna remodel the entire process of how corporate culture works, it would be a game-changer decision and first of its kind... kudos to the entire management team who broke the barrier and took this decision."
The Wakefit Sleep Internship Programme
In 2019, Wakefit has announced an internship program called 'The Wakefit Internship', in this program selected interns were needed to sleep for nine hours every night regularly for 100 days. The company has provided mattresses, sophisticated fitness and sleep tracker, and counseling sessions from the experts to the interns.
