The combined attempt exam of UGC NET December 2021 and June 2022 will be held in the first or second week of June 2022. As said by Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the detailed exam date sheet after finalizing the exam dates.
Sharing the information through his official Twitter handle, he wrote, "For the merged cycles of December 2021 and June 2022, the next UGC-NET will be conducted in the first/second week of June 2022. The exact schedule will be announced once NTA finalizes the dates."
Applications to start soon
Applications for the UGC-NET exam will be starting soon. The link for the registration will be activated at the official website of UGC-NET at www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in. After clearing the exam, the candidates will be eligible to take admissions in Ph.D. courses and apply as teaching faculty across the country. The certificate validity is three years for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and a lifetime for assistant professor and lectureship.
Previous Exam
Previously, the exam was merged for December 2020 and June 2021 sessions, and it was held between November 20 and December 5. The exam was conducted after a gap of 17 months, as it was getting delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ph.D. no more a mandate
As announced by the commission earlier, Ph.D. is no more a mandate to teach in central universities. The decision has been taken to make industry experts eligible without Ph.D. to teach as assistant professors in colleges and universities around the country. Industry experts without Ph.D. will be designated as Professors of Practice or Associate Professor of Practice.
