However, in order to get rid of acne, you also need to avoid certain food items in your routine diet. 

Refined Flour and Sugar

By cutting down on the consumption of refined flour and sugar the problem can be avoided. Refined flour and sugar increases the insulin level in our body. These items also contain high glycemic carbohydrates which can cause and worsen the problem of pimples and acne. 

Dairy Products 

All the dairy products including full-fat curd, paneer, milk and ice-cream act as triggers to increase acne. Dairy products contain casein which leads to increase  the level of hormones resulting in worsening the acne. Thus the oil glands of our skin gets activated, due to which an increased sebum gives rise to acne. 

Chocolate

Consumption of sugar-free chocolate or dark chocolate does not lead to any kind of breakouts of pimples and acne. However, if you like to consume normal milk chocolate then it can be a reason to cause acne.
