Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is based on India's 1983 Cricket World Cup victory. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has shared a new poster of the sports drama on his Instagram handle and revealed the release date of the movie 83.
Ranveer wrote on Twitter, "The incredible true story of the underdogs who pulled off the unthinkable!. 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Also in 3D." The film is set to release on December 24.

Talking about the trailer video, which is of three minutes forty nine seconds, director Kabir Khan did a great job of taking us back to 1983, when India won the historic World Cup. One of the talented actors of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh, who has played the role of Kapil Dev, is all set to give audience goosebumps.

Apart from Ranveer Singh, the cast includes: Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Nishant Dahiya as Roger Binny and R Badree as Sunil Valson. Additionally, Pankaj Tripathi plays PR Man Singh, the team’s manager. While Deepika Padukone will be seen playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev.
