Singapore to remove India from Travel Restriction List

Singapore has announced to remove India from its travel restriction list from October 27.

Singapore has announced to remove India along with five other South Asian countries from its Covid-19 travel restrictions list. The move has come as the country is adjusting to border measures in response to the global Covid-19 pandemic situation. As stated by the Health Ministry of Singapore, "All travellers with a 14-day travel history to Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore from 27 October." The ministry also added that travellers from these countries will be subjected to the tightest of border measures, which involve a 10-day, stay-home notice period at a dedicated facility.

Addressing a virtual press conference, health minister Ong Ye Kung said, "There is no longer a need for strict rules that prevent travellers from these countries from landing here," as quoted by the Straits Times.
