Singapore lifts Quarantine requirement for Fully Vaccinated Travelers

Singapore announces to lift mandatory quarantine requirement from April 1 onwards for travelers who are fully vaccinated.

The government of Singapore has announced to lift mandatory quarantine requirement from April 1 onwards for travelers who are fully inoculated with both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.  As per the reports, all travelers who are fully vaccinated will be expected to go through a pre-departure test and meet prevailing visa necessities.

In this reference, in a released statement, Singapore Airlines expressed that fully inoculated passengers on all SIA and Scoot flights will be able to get quarantine-free entry into Singapore, without any pre-requisites of on-arrival test or quarantine, from April 1, 2022.

At present, SIA and Scoot runs from 97 destinations in 34 countries to Singapore. With the most recent update, the whole SIA and Scoot network will open to all eligible customers. As per the statement, SIA and Scoot will no longer designate specific Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights from April 1, 2022. Further, the statement added that existing travelers who have already booked on a VTL flight on or after April 1, 2022, will be able to travel as planned.

Pre-departure test two days before departure will remain in place

On Thursday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the pre-departure test two days before departure will, however, remain in place for now.

"We will continue to monitor the local and global Covid-19 situations and consider removing the pre-departure test requirement in the coming weeks," said MOH.

In a television speech on Thursday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that the decision to reopen borders of the nation to vaccinated passengers will provide a much-needed boost to businesses in the tourism sector, and help Singapore reclaim its position as a business and aviation hub, reported The Straits Times.
