Aspirin is also an effective remedy. Crush 2 aspirins into a fine powder and add it to the shampoo and after applying the shampoo rinse it after 2-3 minutes. The salicylic acid present in aspirin helps to treat dandruff.
Yoghurt can also calm down an itchy scalp, one needs to shampoo their hair, apply yoghurt and let it rest for 15 minutes or so and rinse it with water with a small amount of shampoo. Yogurt contains good bacteria which prevents flaking of the scalp are. One can add black pepper to it as it contains anti-fungal properties.
Lemon is an easy home remedy, one can squeeze lemon juice on the scalp and massage it then leave it for 2-3 minutes and rinse it off with shampoo. Use it regularly until dandruff disappears. The acidic character of lemon helps in balancing the pH of your hair.
Tea tree oil reduces inflammation, itchiness and greasiness and helps in reducing dandruff, it is both anti-fungal and anti-microbial. Add 5-10 drops of this oil to regular shampoo and after applying it on scalp rinse it off.
