1.Rhea Chakraborty
In the very recent case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, his girlfriend actress Rhea Chakraborty was seen as a prime accused. Her varying statements and some confessions to the CBI during an investigation landed the actress in jail for over a month. While she was granted bail, some time ago, she still has to report to the police on a weekly basis even now.
2. Salman Khan
Superstar Salman Khan has been a messiah for many, from running an NGO Being Human to helping the needy, there are a lot of good deeds that Salman has done. But in his younger days the actor also committed two serious crimes, one was a blackbuck poaching case and the other was a hit and run case and it was for one of these cases that Salman spent almost two days in jail.
3. Sanjay Dutt
Actor Sanjay Dutt’s life has been an open book and we all know that his young days were full of controversies. While he was not an idol for many to look up to, the actor also went to jail for 5 years for possessing illegal arms during the 1993 Mumbai blast.
4. Saif Ali Khan
Many years ago actor Saif Ali Khan was also arrested after a complaint was filed against him for assaulting a man and fracturing his nose at Taj Hotel in Colaba. But the actor was granted bail and was released the same day.
5. Shah Rukh Khan
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has had his share of controversies and the actor himself revealed during his interview with David Letterman that he had landed in jail during his early days for threatening a journalist for an article. This all had happened around his film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.
6. Akshay Kumar
Khiladi Kumar who we see promote nationality with most of his films also happened to break a law that put him behind bars. In 2009, at the Lakme Fashion Week even Akshay demanded his wife Twinkle Khanna to unzip his jeans during a fashion show, following which a case was registered against the couple for promoting obscenity in public space. It was sue to this that Akshay Kumar was in jail for some time and he was later given bail.
7. Sooraj Pancholi
Actor Sooraj Pancholi who we saw in Hero in 2015, was in news for the wrong reasons even before his debut. The actor who was dating late actress Jiah Khan was accused of being the reason behind her suicide. He was put in jail for a month after Jiah’s suicide note addressed to him was found. The actor was kept in an anda cell at the Arthur Road jail in Mumbai.
8. John Abraham
John Abraham has been one of the most non-controversial Bollywood actors, but he once landed in jail for 15 days. It so happened that in 2006 this bike lover John Abraham lost control of his Hayabusa and injured two people on the road. After which he was given a jail term.
9. Suniel Shetty
Actor Suniel Shetty has been away from the big screen for a while, but beyond Bollywood, he is also a businessman and has various ventures. And it was his one such business deal that invited legal trouble. A businessman had accused that a cheque of Rs 10 lakhs from Suniel had bounced, following this, the actor was put in jail, but was later granted bail.
10. Shiney Ahuja
The green-eyed boy Shiney Ahuja was a heartthrob in his prime, but his career ended like a wisp of air. The Gangster actor was accused of raping his maid and while claiming to be innocent, he was found guilty by a fast-track court. After this Shiney was sentenced to a jail term of 7 years.
