Rajasthan Government Plans to Boost Border Tourism

This initiative by Rajasthan Tourism in collaboration with central agencies and Border Security Force (BSF). The BSF will be entrusted with the operation and maintenance of tourist attractions along with organizing exhibitions for tourists.

In a bid to promote tourism in the state, the Rajasthan Tourism Department has shared a proposal to the Center. The Center has given approval for the proposal to be implemented. The proposal was to develop the Shri Tanot Complex in Jaisalmer as a tourist attraction. A budget of Rs 17.67 Crore has also been sanctioned by the Center to boost tourism related activities and for the development of the infrastructure in the region. 

These desert areas near the border areas are deserted and they are full of various stories related to war heroes and cultural heritage. These stories are likely to attract tourists.

Safe and easy access to the location

Reportedly, the latest initiative will provide safer and easier location access. This initiative by Rajasthan Tourism in collaboration with central agencies and Border Security Force (BSF) will not only help visitors to understand the life of people and security forces living in border areas but also open new doors for locals. 

According to reports, the government is also considering building an amphitheater, interpretation center, children's play area, canteen, surveillance system, solar street lights, signage, and various other facilities at Tanot village in the Jaisalmer district, as reported by TOI.

The BSF will take care of the safety and security 

The BSF will be entrusted with the operation and maintenance of tourist attractions along with organizing exhibitions for tourists. Located in the border area, Longewala is popular for the brave hearts of the Indian armed forces who lost their lives during the war with Pakistan in 1971. The place is one of the major tourist attractions and the Tanot Mata temple is a place visited by several visitors every day.
