On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has interacted with more than 150 startups belonging from various sectors. During the interaction via video conferencing, he said that startups are the backbone of the nation.
He said, "Our startups are changing the rules of the game. I believe that startups are going to be the backbone of New India. Let us innovate for India, innovate from India."
He said, "Start-ups are going to be the backbone of new India. When India completes 100 years of independence, start-ups will have an important role. Country's innovators are making the country proud globally"
"India's ranking on the Global Innovation Index is improving because of the programme on innovation started in the country. India was ranked 81 in 2015 and now it is at No. 46," he said.
Further, PM Modi said, "This decade is being called as 'techade' of India...to strengthen the innovation, entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem have important aspects like liberating entrepreneurship, innovation from govt processes, bureaucratic silos."
