Today's first match will be played between Puneri Paltan and UP Yoddha, while in the second match, defending champion Bengal Warriors will face Telugu Titans. Puneri Paltan have won three of their last four matches and are narrowing the gap between the teams in the playoffs. The return of Nitin Tomar has boosted the morale of the platoon. Coach Anup Kumar has found the right personnel, and the team looks to be in good form, but they still have a whole lot of ground to cover and can't afford any more slip-ups. So while the UP Yoddha still needs fine-tuning, they are moving in the right direction. With a win or a tie against Puneri Paltan, they can move up to the fourth position in the points table and probably won't let the slightest lapse in their performance.
The Second Match
At the same time, in the second match to be held today, the Titans have been competitive in almost every game played in this season, but have not registered a victory yet. Rohit Kumar of this team has scored five raid points in six matches, which is a good comeback from one of the best raiders in the game so far. Titans need luck to stand any chance of breaking into the playoff spot.
So at the same time Bengal Warriors succeeded in two games without defeat. Captain Maninder Singh has had the team on his back and set an example during the recent resurgence of the Warriors. He has scored 29 points in his last two matches, bringing his season average to 12.9 points per game. Mohammad Nabibakhsh hasn't been that impressive in the first season, while other seasoned stalwarts like Abozar Mighani and Sukesh Hegde have also struggled to impress.
Today's first match is Puneri Paltan vs U.P. Yoddha will be played from 7:30 pm, while the second match Telugu Titans vs Bengal Warriors will start at 8:30 pm.
