The post-mortem report of Nikki Yadav who was strangled to death by her boyfriend with a charging cable shows that suffocation was the reason of her death. Nikki Yadav who belonged to Haryana was reportedly murdered at the age of 25.
Nikki’s dead body was spotted in a freezer at Delhi’s Mitraon village on Tuesday. She was first taken to Rao Tularam Memorial Hospital. Later she was shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for a post-mortem on Wednesday. Marks were spotted on her neck but the report doesn’t mention about any other injury marks in the body. Her dead body will soon be handed over to her relatives who will take the dead body to their ancestral residence in Jhajjar in Haryana.
According to the doctors it is difficult to calculate the exact time of death as the body was in the freezer and no natural process takes place in the freeze. The police is collecting evidence on the basis of forensic investigation.
CCTV footages of the cameras installed in the victim’s house where she lived on rent in Delhi's Uttam Nagar, shows that Nikki had gone to the terrace at around 1 pm, and returned the other day at around 9 pm.
Nikki used to live with one of her sisters was in this flat and accused Sahil Gehlot of visiting her frequently. Her neighbours had also witnessed this. As per the police Nikki was actually mudered by her live-in partner after she came to know of his impending marriage with another woman.
The accused was arrested on Tuesday and was presented before a Delhi court which sent him to five-day police remand said DCP Crime Branch Satish Kumar. He also stated "The accused is on remand for five days. Inquiry is on. Our multiple teams are working to identify the route taken that night. We are also scanning CCTV footages".
Mr Kumar further stated “The accused was getting engaged on February 9. The accused went to meet Nikki at her flat and left early in the morning, they went to many places in Delhi, during which there was an argument about his marriage. During this, he got angry and strangled the victim with a mobile cable. After that, he kept the victim's body in the refrigerator in a dhaba in Mitraon village and then the accused went to his marriage”.
