In the game between Lucknow Super giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday in IPL 2023, LSG won by 5 wickets against SRH while chasing a target of 122 runs.
Opting to bat first SRH went on losing early wickets after Pandya took 3 wickets followed by Amit Mishra who took 2 wickets, Rahul Tripathi scored 35 runs out of 41 balls and Anmolpreet Singh contributed 31 of 26 balls and scored 121/8 in 20 overs. LSG had a comfortable start as openers KL Rahul and Kyler Mayers smashed early boundaries but the side also lost some early wickets however Krunal Pandya’s knock of 34 and Rahul’s 35 runs took them across the line in only 16 overs.
KL Rahul hit 4 fours during his innings while Krunal Pandya hit 4 boundaries and a six. In the 15th over Adil Rashid dismissed Rahul and Romario Shepherd (2/23). Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away 13 runs in the first over with 5 wides and KL Rahul hitting a four but he made up for his expensive over by taking the wicket of Deepak Hooda (7), caught and bowled and brought LSG to 45/2.
Nicholas Pooran completed the victory by hitting T Natarajan for a six over square leg. Krunal Pandya registered figures of 3/18 including 15 dot balls, he took the wickets of Mayank Agarwal(8), Anmolpreet Singh(31) and captain Aiden Makram(0). Aiden Makram went for a drive in the first ball but it spun leading to the stumping of wickets.
Ravi Bishnoi took the wicket of Harry Brook and Veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra had a fine spell of 2/23 but was substituted by impact player Ayush Badoni in the 19th over.
From 43/1 in the Powerplay, SRH slipped to 63/4 in the halfway stage. Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar had the highest partnership of 39 runs before he fell to the spell of Yash Thakur in the 18th over. Abdul Samad hit 2 sixes in the final over to take SRH score over 120.
