Not everyone is born lucky, and not everyone gets what they dreamt of, but there are some who keep working hard through every struggle they face until success knocks at their doors. Similar has been the journey of Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji actor Ansh Bagri who rose in his career with a film, but he fell after the movie was shelved, yet he didn’t give up and stood up once again. Currently seen in the web-show Love Ke Pange, Ansh gets into an exclusive interview with Instafeed sharing amazing insights from his acting journey…
What kind of panga will we see you taking in your upcoming web-show Love Ke Pange?
In the web show, there is a guy named Sumeet Tokas, whose personality is such that everybody thinks he is looking for a chance to mess around. But he is not like that, he is a Haryanvi living in Delhi and he thinks he is too overconfident. One day he bumps into a girl, Neha Sharma who is also from Delhi, Neha finds this boy to be clingy when the boy tries to help her. Both of them leave for a solo trip to Manali and live their own beautiful lives and unwillingly they keep crossing paths and land-up in each other's business. It’s a very simple story and both play very different characters. The web-series has only six episodes. The story revolves around these two people and people have been loving my character a lot.
How was your experience of working with Asha Negi in the web-show?
I enjoyed working with Asha. I came to Mumbai in 2011 and in the beginning, I did 3-4 TV commercials. I met Asha for the first time when I was out with some friends, that time even she was new in Mumbai and wasn’t doing Pavitra Rishta then. In fact, back then she was doing small side roles. She was very normal and down to earth. She hails from Dehradun and when I met her, I found her to be a very cute and simple girl. But Asha met me again when we met for the reading of Love Ke Pange, and by then she had become a renowned actress who had worked on some popular TV shows. But when I met her, she hadn’t changed at all and I wish she remains to be this way. Working with her was fun.
You have worked with Jasmin Bhasin in Dil Toh Happy Ji, and now we see her in the Bigg Boss 14 house. What would you like to say about her in the house?
I have not been able to follow the show regularly, but I see it because I don’t want to miss out on Jasmin in the house. I always wanted to see her in a show like this. She is very upfront and full of life and has great experience of working on television. She has all the qualities that one needs to be on Bigg Boss. In Bigg Boss, your real personality comes out very clearly. I saw some recent episodes of Bigg Boss and saw Jasmin rocking in the house. She is a lioness in the Bigg Boss house.
How is your health shaping up after suffering from Covid?
I was Covid positive a month ago, and after 15-17 days my report came negative. I am much better than before now, but my stamina is still weak. I will recover slowly, and go back to what I was before Covid. I would like to tell everyone to take care of themselves, wear a mask, and take all precautions. Also, try to make your lifestyle better. I am glad that Covid didn’t hit me very hard.
Tell us something about your upcoming projects?
Love Ke Pange is already on air, after this, I have a film, its shooting has been completed. Only shooting a song is left, the film will release at the beginning of next year.
Did you always want to become an actor or you took this decision over time?
I thought about becoming an actor when I was 7 or 8, I have loved and grown-up watch Amitabh Bachchan, I always thought of becoming an actor like Big B. When I was 13 or 14 years old, I had decided that I will be an actor. I had even started earning for it so that I could collect money for the gym so that I could have a great body. Its been a long journey.
How was your experience of facing the camera for the first time?
When I had come to Mumbai, I gave a lot of auditions, at that time I did a lot of TV commercials. At that time I would get a lot of offers to do TV serials, but I would turn them down because I didn’t feel like doing them. Also, I wanted to do a film first. I had worked with Kareena Kapoor in a commercial for Limca after which I started getting calls from big directors like Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Santoshi, etc. But there is a rule that when you are working with one director, you cannot be working with another, so I decided that I will work with the one who called me first. Rajkumar Santoshi was the first one to call me and I was his huge fan, I worked on the film for two years, however, the film couldn’t be made. I had even stopped doing TV commercials by then. At that time I was living with Mr. Rajkumar Santoshi and I would only come home to sleep. I would feel bad then, but in those two years, I learnt a lot from him. By 2015 all my money was over, I was on the roads, but I continued to work and I am sure it will be useful in the future.
