Apart from the corona virus positive cases, cases of Zika virus are also increasing in Kerala. The situation in the state is becoming difficult to cope up. On Thursday, State Health Minister Veena George said that "5 new cases of Zika virus have been found in Kerala. After this, the total number of people infected with Zika virus in the state has increased to 28."
Kerala Health Minister Veena George added, "out of 5 new cases of Zika virus, 2 have been reported in Anayara and one each in Kunukuzhi, Pattam and East Fort. The government is fully alert about the Zika virus in the state. The cases of corona virus are also being monitored."
On Wednesday, Veena George said that "the area most affected by Zika virus infection has been identified within a three-kilometre radius of Anayara and steps are being taken to eliminate mosquitoes here so that it does not spread to other places. Along with this, in view of Zika infection, a control room has been set up in the District Medical Office of Thiruvananthapuram." The Health Minister urged people to be alert as the number of people infected with Zika virus has increased in the state.
