Recently a picture of River Umngot, also known as the Dawki River has been shared on Twitter which is going viral. The river looks unimaginably beautiful, crystal clear. The picture was shared on Twitter by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
While sharing the picture, the Ministry tweeted, "One of the cleanest rivers in the world. It is in India. River Umngot, 100 Kms from Shillong, in Meghalaya state. It seems as if the boat is in the air and the water is so clean and transparent. Wish all our rivers were as clean. Hats off to the people of Meghalaya."
The Crystal Clear River Umngot
The river Umngot flows into Bangladesh through Dawki river. It acts as a division between the Jaintia and Khasi Hills. The river passes through the village which is 78 km away from Shillong, Meghalaya.
India's northeastern state Meghalaya is famous for its wonderful natural beauty. The Umngot River, or Dawki River is situated in the border town of Dawki in the West Jaintia Hills district. It is said to be one of the cleanest rivers in India.
