Indian Railways cancels Trains in North Western Region

The Indian Railways has canceled few trains in the North Western Region due to expansion work.

For the smooth movement of passengers and freight across the country, the Indian Railways is energetically working towards the electrification and doubling of railway lines. As the expansion work of railway lines is being carried out, Indian Railways has closed or diverted trains on some routes. 

The North Western Railways is massively carrying out the doubling and electrification works of railway tracks in the region. It has announced to cancel and divert routes of a few long and short distance trains operating in the region.

A senior railway officer from North Western Railways informed the media that they were canceling and diverting a few trains in the region as non-electrical work is being carried out on several routes.

He said, "the trains canceled or diverted are Bikaner-Puri express train and Udaipur-Shalimar express train." 

The recently issued notification of the Indian Railways states that train numbering 20971 Udaipur-Shalimar express train has been canceled on December 18 and Train numbering 20972 Shalimar-Udaipur express train has been canceled on December 19. 

As per the notification, "train numbering 20471 Bikaner-Puri train will not operate on December 19, while train numbering 20472 Puri-Bikaner train has been canceled on December 15 and 22."
