An Indian duo of mother and daughter set a new record by making a rangoli out of 26,000 ice cream-sticks. Their name has been entered in Singapore Book of Records.
This rangolis is a representation of Tamil scholar-poets. This beautiful rangoli which is a glimpse of India’s unique and colourful culture measures around 6-by-6 metre. As per the reports Sudha Ravi partnered by her daughter Rakshita, made the rangoli last week. This was the part of a cultural event planned in ongoing Pongal celebrations in the Little India neighbourhood.
It took a month for the duo to complete the rangoli. It honourably depicts famous Tamil scholar-poets named Tiruvalluvar, Avvaiyaar, Bharathiyaar, and Bharathidasan. It is found to be coinciding with the celebration of their works by Kalamanjari which is a Tamil cultural organisation, that created the event, and the Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA). Notably Sudha Ravi had earlier got her name registered in the record book for creating a 3,200 sq ft rangoli in 2016.
Soundara Nayaki Vairavan captioned while shareing a few pictures from the event on social media. "Kalamanjari had a very humble beginning in November 2018, when it was started. After four years of incredible journey now, it has found a place in the 'Singapore Book of Records.' Thanks to LISHA for including it in their Pongal calendar 2023. This record is mainly due to the tireless efforts of Sudha and Rakshita. Also, Thanks to the Kalamanjari team for standing by me always."
The post was liked and appreciated by millions of citizens. Some people even considered it as an assurance that upcoming generation of India is efficient enough to preserve its rich and colourful culture. People also appreciated the duo for increasing the pride of the nation.
