Comedian Raju Srivastava breathed his last on September 21, sending shockwaves across the nation. The late star, who was best known for his happy-go-lucky personality had been battling in the ICU for more than a month before the news of his demise broke millions of hearts.
The 58 year-old comedian’s family has confirmed the news of his passing. The veteran comedian was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on August 10. He experienced acute chest pain after collapsing while he was working out at a gym. The gym trainer rushed him to a hospital where he was immediately given CPR. He also underwent an angioplasty the same day. He had since been kept on a ventilator in critical condition.
Ever since the news of the comedian’s demise emerged, his colleagues and friends from the industry have expressed their condolences. From the film world to politicians, leading figures condoled his death. Even Prime Minster Narendra Modi took it upon himself to shower the late comedian with praise for his contribution.
Raju Srivastava born on December 25, 1963, often credited as Gajodhar, is a Renowned Indian comedian, actor and politician. Srivastava has been working in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and received recognition after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2005. He has been featured in films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya’ and ‘Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’ among others.
