Hong Kong Witnesses Soaring Covid-19 Cases After Lifting Travel Curbs

After lifting the travel restrictions, there is a major spike in the daily Covid-19 cases.

Hong Kong opened its boundaries to explorers on May 1, 2022, and in a range of only one month, the frequency of international flights multiplied to 38 from 19 in April. Prior to this, Hong Kong citizens and residents only were permitted to enter the city.

As the boundaries opened, Hong Kong logged a spike in daily cases of Covid-19. After the pandemic has begun, since January it is the first time that  Hong Kong logged almost three times the number of cases of Covid-19. In June 2022, the number of new cases has crossed the 800-mark in Hong Kong.

Fresh Cases Soaring High 

On Sunday, June 12, Hong Kong announced 106 fresh imported cases. As per a report by South China Morning Post, on Wednesday, June 15, Hong Kong clocked 971 fresh Covid-19 local cases and 71 imported cases, which is for the first time after April 13 that the daily mark has crossed 1,000-mark.

No restrictions to be imposed again 

In the midst of soaring fresh cases, there are no chances in the city to close everything as it had already suffered big financial losses due to the Covid-19 lockdown. 

As per a report by the Times of India, most cases have shown gentle side effects, with an exemption of not very many serious cases, no new passings, and around 88% of the city's populace inoculated, Hong Kong is sure about managing what is going on.

Hong Kong is having no restrictions on movement at present and it will keep welcoming international guests. However, it is advisable for travelers to follow the Covid-19 protocol while traveling to guard themselves as well as other people.
