On the challenging survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, the Supreme Court will hear the petition on Tuesday. The petition was filed by Anjuman Masjid Committee in opposition to the order given by the Varanasi court that directed a survey of the Gyanvapi mosque. The hearing of this petition will take place in presence of a bench led by Justice DY Chandrachud.
Third day of the survey
Concluding today, the survey of Gyanvapi mosque continued for the third consecutive day. The survey started at 8 am and was completed at 10:15 am. After the court-mandated videography survey of the mosque, lawyer Vishnu Jain said that it is "a big victory for the Hindu side". Further, he said that there is a well inside the mosque which is used for 'wuzu', and in that well, a 'shiv linga' has been found.

As the survey concluded, the Varanasi Court issued an order for the District Magistrate of Varanasi, Kaushal Raj Sharma to seal the area so that people will be barred to visit the place where shiv linga has been found.
Report to be submitted on Tuesday
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma said that the detailed report of the survey will be submitted in court on Tuesday as the survey has come to conclusion.
Located near the Kashi Vishwanath temple, the Gyanvapi mosque is one of the sacred places to receive a great number of devotees on a daily basis for offering prayers.
The Muslim side denies the claim of finding 'Shivlinga'
Meanwhile, an advocate of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, Rais Ahmad Ansari stated, "there is only a fountain in the wajookahan in the Gyanvapi mosque. The structure, which the petitioners are claiming to be a Shivlinga is a fountain. It is a misleading claim."
