Group Captain Varun Singh, injured in IAF Chopper crash, Passes Away

Group Captain Varun Singh, who survived the IAF helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, passed away.

Group Captain Varun Singh, who survived a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, has died in a hospital. Indian Air Force gave this information. “IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family," the Indian Air Force tweeted. 





Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Group Captain Singh. “Group Captain Varun Singh served the nation with pride, valour and utmost professionalism. I am extremely anguished by his passing away. His rich service to the nation will never be forgotten. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti," PM Modi wrote on Twitter. 


CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other army personnel were killed in a helicopter crash in Coonoor last week while the injured officer Singh was undergoing treatment in Bengaluru.
