In view of Chhath festival, a holiday has been declared in many states including UP-Bihar. This year the Delhi government has declared November 10 as a public holiday for Chhath festival. Regarding the holiday in Delhi, the Delhi government stated, "Chhath Puja is an important festival for the people of NCT Delhi. Accordingly, the government of NCT of Delhi has decided to declare 10th November as public holiday on account of Chhath Puja." However, there will be a holiday of Chhath Puja in Bihar also on November 10. Since Chhath Puja is celebrated in North India including Eastern North. In such a situation, some other states have also declared a holiday.
In Jharkhand, a holiday has been declared for Chhath Puja. The Uttarakhand government has also declared a holiday on November 10. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has also declared a holiday on November 10. However, the authority for observing the holiday on November 10 will be with the DM of the districts. While announcing the holiday on Chhath Puja, CM Yogi said, "In such a situation, systematic arrangements should be made for cleanliness, security, lighting, parking and drinking water on the ghats."
