Europe to propose Time Limit on Covid-19 Vaccines

The European Union will soon propose a nine month time limit on Covid-19 vaccines for travel.

The European Union (EU) will soon propose a nine month validity or time limit on Covid-19 vaccines for travel. The EU will also recommend to prioritize vaccinated travelers. As per an official report, "the European Commission will recommend its members to continue welcoming vaccinated travelers with shots approved by the bloc", quoted Times Travel.

On Thursday, EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders said. "a new internal EU travel framework will be prepared that will focus on individuals' vaccination or recovery status than on caseloads in the countries they are travelling from." 

European Commission tweeted, "We have been fully active in finding solutions to guarantee the safe free movement of people and protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today we are proposing a new Recommendation for better coordination of safe free travel. Here are our updated proposals ⏬." 

The European Commission further added, "SyringeA standard acceptance period for vaccination certificates of 9 months since the primary vaccination series. #EUCOVIDCertificate: White heavy check mark In principle, not subject to additional restrictions. Cross mark Could be required to undergo a test carried out prior to or after arrival."
