Eat These Nuts Daily To Reduce Your Cholesterol Level

What is the meaning of Cholesterol? 

According to Medline Plus, "Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that's found in all the cells in our body." Cholesterol is essential for our body to create hormones, Vitamin D, and makes the process of digestion smoother. The liver is responsible to create cholesterol in the body. However, in some food sources like eggs, meat, cheese, yolk, etc. cholesterol is available. 

There are two types of cholesterol, LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and HDL (high-density lipoprotein). HDL is good cholesterol as it transports cholesterol from various parts of the body to the liver. Pistachios 

Rich in Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium, 100 g of Pistachios contain 20.2 grams of proteins. As per research conducted in 2016, people who eat pistachios regularly have reported improved levels of HDL cholesterol and reduced levels of LDL cholesterol. 

Macadamia Nuts 

Macadamia Nuts are rich in carbs, proteins, and other nutritional elements. The consumption of these nuts may lead to a reduction of 5.3 percent in LDL cholesterol levels and it improves HDL cholesterol levels by 7.9 percent. 

Hazel Nuts 

As per a study quoted by Medical News Today, "the authors of a 2016 review compared the findings of nine studies related to hazel nuts and cholesterol. It has been found that people who included hazelnuts in their routine eating habits had lower levels of total and LDL cholesterol, with no effect on HDL cholesterol levels."
