Delhi to get Rapid Rail Corridor to Rohtak soon

The Rapid Rail Corridor will be built to connect 8 corridors with Delhi.

Passengers traveling from Delhi to Rohtak will soon get the benefit of high-speed rail corridor on the route. In the first phase, the rapid rail transit system (RRTS) will be constructed between Delhi to Rohtak via Bahadurgarh and Sampala. The Rapid trains are expected to run at a speed of 160 kilometres per hour. 

The First Phase 

For high-speed RRTS linking with Delhi, the Central Government has identified eight corridors. In the first phase the RRTS will connect Delhi-Meerut, Delhi-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat. The 8 RRTS corridors are part of the Functional Plan on Transport for National Capital Region (NCR) – 2032 prepared by the NCR Planning Board (NCRPB). 

The Second Phase 

In New Delhi, these corridors will start from Sarai Kale Khan will be integrated with other modes of transport such as Delhi Metro Rail Stations, Inter-State Bus Terminals, Airports and Railway Stations. The second phase of the corridor will connect Delhi-Rohtak, Delhi-Palwal, Ghaziabad-Khurja, Ghaziabad-Hapur and Delhi-Baraut.
