Delhi Schools reopening to be discussed in the next DDMA meet

The decision regarding school reopening in Delhi will be taken in the next meeting of the DDMA.

On Thursday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority said that the decision to reopen schools in the national capital will be taken up in the next DDMA meeting. The meeting was headed by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. However, the decision to reopen schools has been postponed for the next meeting.

Restrictions at ease

As the national capital is recording lesser number of Covid-19 cases on a daily basis, the DDMA has announced to lift weekend curfew and odd-even system of opening non-essential shops in the city. Moreover, restaurants and bars are also permitted to reopen with 50% seating capacity.

As per the order, the government offices have also been allowed to reopen with 50% staff. Apart from this, marriage ceremonies will be allowed with maximum 200 guests in open areas and up to 50% capacity at indoor venues. Till now, only 20 people were allowed to attend ceremonial events at home.

However, the DDMA said that the night curfew imposed on weekdays from 10 pm to 5 am will remain in effect.
