Delhi reports 5,481 fresh Covid-19 cases, Positivity rate reaches 8.37%

5,481 fresh cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Delhi on Tuesday and the infection rate has increased to 8.37 percent.

On Tuesday, 5,481 fresh cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Delhi and the infection rate has increased to 8.37 percent, as per the data released by the Health Department at around 4 pm. The data said that 1,575 patients have recovered along with 3 fatalities due to the infection. 

So far 14,63,701 patients have been infected with corona in Delhi and out of these 14,23,699 patients have recovered and 25,113 patients have died. Currently, the active caseload in Delhi stands at 14,889. On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also tested positive for the Covid-19 infection. 


Restrictions imposed 

On Tuesday, witnessing a surge in Covid infections, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has decided to impose curfew over the weekend, beginning from this week. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that except essential services in Delhi, all government officials will work from home. Private offices will be allowed to function with 50 percent capacity.
